Pet
Casket FAQs:
Q: Can I choose the color and linings for the pet caskets?
A: Yes, we offer many combinations of stain finishes and linings.
Q: Do you offer custom sized pet caskets and in different wood types?
A: Yes, we can make just about anything you would like. Please call us
for a detailed quote and lead-time. Custom pet caskets can take 2-4 weeks
to complete depending on size, wood type and custom features.
Q: How long will it take for a pet casket to be ready?
A: We can typically have a pet casket ready with your choice of stain
and linings in 3 business days. We do try to keep some pre-stained units
on hand to speed deliveries.
Q: Is shipping available to Canada?
A: Yes, we can ship to all areas of Canada. There is additional transit
time needed for customs and there is a small additional shipping charge.
Q: Do you ship to other countries then the US and Canada?
A: We currently do not ship caskets outside of the US and Canada for export
and liability reasons.
Q: Can I have a pet casket shipped to me overnight?
A: We try to keep several styles in stock, pre-lined, to have available
for emergency shipments. Typically, we stock the Sammy caskets with the
ivory satin lining. Please call for our current availability. We will
do all we can to help.
Q: What is the pet casket made of?
A: We use a high quality white pine that is hand picked from a local professional
trade lumber supplier. We do not use the lower grade wood found at the
large chain home improvement stores.
Q: Is the pet casket air and watertight? Will it degrade over time?
A: As the pet caskets are made from natural wood, they will degrade over
a period of time and return to the earth. Every style of casket comes
with a pre-installed seal on the lid and the seams in the base of the
casket are sealed with waterproof silicone. This provides a moisture and
air resistant barrier that helps to slow the box decomposition.
Q: Do pet cemeteries allow the burial of wood pet caskets?
A: Many pet cemeteries will allow the burial of a wood casket but may
require the use of a vault to reduce the effects of ground settling over
a period of time. Please check with your chosen pet cemetery before ordering
if this is a concern.
Q: Is it okay to bury the pet casket in my backyard?
A: This is by far the most popular method used in burying a pet but please
check with your local officials if you are concerned about it being allowed
where you live. Your local city/town may allow it if your land meets certain
setback requirements. Burying an animal on private property is ultimately
the responsibility of the property owner. Pets We Loved will not be held
responsible for any issues or actions taken against the property owner
as result of using our products or the property owner's decision to bury
a pet on unapproved or unlicensed burial property.
Pet Cremation Urn FAQ
Q: How are my ashes typically returned to me from the veterinarian?
A: They are typically returned in a small tin. Inside the tin, the ashes
should be in a sealed plastic bag or similar. The ashes can be removed
from the tin and placed into one of our urns.
Q: How do I get my pet's ashes into the urn?
A: Our wood urns have a panel on the bottom that is removed with 4 screws.
The sealed ashes can be placed inside and the panel replaced. Placing
the ashes only takes a few minutes to do. Only insert the sealed ashes
into the urn, do not place the loose ash into the urn.
Q: Is there an additional cost for standard ground shipping?
A: No, standard shipping is free with all urn orders.
Q: How long does it take to receive my urn?
A: All pet cremation urns ship the next business day, fully engraved,
and arrive in 3-5 business days.
Q: Can I express ship my urn?
A: Yes, please contact us when you need an immediate shipment and orders
that are placed by noon (est) will ship the same day. We can provide the
express shipping charges when you call.
Q: What can I have engraved on my urn's brass plate?
A: We offer up to 4 lines and 25 total characters per line (includes spaces).
Most pet owners use 3 lines with the pet's name, the dates (ex, 2000 -
2006), and then a sing line of text (ex. "We will miss you always").
Pet Cremation Keepsake
Jewelry FAQ
Q: Do the pendants include a chain?
A: Yes, either a matching 20" sterling silver or 14k gold plate chain
is included with every pendant. Solid gold 14k chains are available for
an additional charge.
Q: How do I place the ashes into the pendant?
A: Each pendant has a screw off plug opening to allow the ash or fur to
be placed inside the pendant. For most of the pendants, it's part of the
chain loop at the top of the pendant. Once its secured, it's nearly transparent
to anyone looking at the pendant. A very small funnel is included with
each pendant to aid in placing the loose ash inside. Just a very small
sample is needed.
Q: How are my ashes typically returned to me from the veterinarian?
A: They are typically returned in a small tin. Inside the tin, the ashes
should be in a sealed plastic bag or similar. A small opening would need
to be made to the bag and remove a small sample of ash for the pendant.
I strongly suggest placing the remaining bagged ashes into an additional
bag to ensure none is lost. The remaining ash can either be placed back
into the tin or into a cremation urn.
Q: Can I express ship my pendant?
A: Yes, please contact us when you need an immediate shipment and orders
that are placed by noon (est) will ship the same day. We can provide the
express shipping charges when you call.
Q: Are the pendants available in solid gold versus 14k gold plate?
A: We do offer many of the gold pendants in 14k solid gold. Please contact
us for specific pendant pricing.
Q: Can my pendant be engraved?
A: Yes, we do offer engraving services. Please contact us for specific
pricing and availability.
